Membership has been working with our Club President Kevin McLean and our Club Captains, Peter Hall and Viv Wilkes on updating our Dress Code on course, in the Club House and in the Member’s Lounge.

Dress Code

The Heritage Golf and Country Club’s Dress Requirements

The Club’s Dress Regulations are designed to support and enhance an appropriate level of decorum within the Club and to meet a degree of acceptability among all Members. The requirements are consistent with many private golf clubs in Australia. Members are responsible for the attire of their guests. Guests must be informed of dress regulations in advance to avoid embarrassment.

On Course and Practice Range

Suitable Dress:

  • Tailored trousers or shorts worn with a belt, or plus-fours. Women can also wear skirts, modest shorts, skorts and three-quarter length pants.
  • Collared shirts, turtleneck or open neck with mock collar designed for golf. Shirts expressly tailored for the purpose need not be tucked in.
  • Colour co-ordinated socks of any style or length – but long socks should be pulled up.
  • Golf shoes with soft spikes only. All shoes should be worn with socks.

Unsuitable Dress:

  • No denim, cargo or draw string pants or shorts, tracksuit pants. No patch pockets.
  • Trousers tucked into socks.
  • Football attire of any type or gymnasium attire.
  • Shirts without collars and/or unbuttoned below the chest.
  • No t-shirts, singlets or tank tops.
  • No clothing – including socks – with large motifs or advertising, cartoons or slogans.
  • Sandshoes, sandals, runners, thongs or metal spiked golf shoes.

 

In the Member’s Lounge

Suitable

  • Golf or neat casual attire. Dress shirts expressly tailored for the purpose need not be tucked in. Golf shoes and casual dress shoes.

Unsuitable

  • No denim. Wet weather golf attire or excessively wet clothing.
  • No caps, hats or visors. No thongs, running shoes or tradesmen’s boots.

 

Persons not correctly attired will not be permitted on to the Golf Course or Practice facilities and may be refused service in the Club House and Member’s Lounge.
