Golf Pros
Whether you’re a first-time player, an aspiring professional or looking to improve your all-round game, golf lessons are a great way to accelerate your development as a golfer.
We are excited to announce the return of Golf Professionals to the Heritage Golf and Country Club. We have been in negotiations with three Golf Pros to get a good mix of talent and experience.
The first – who needs no introduction to Heritage Members – is Michael Dean. Michael has re-joined the fold and is anxious to meet you all again and use his skills to improve your game.
Please join us in welcoming him back. His first official day will be tomorrow, Friday 26 November 2021.
Also joining us is Sean Crowe and Alan Luo – whom some of you will know. We have included a profile of all three Golf Pros so that you can better understand their credentials and past accomplishments.
Bookings can be made for all three coaches through the Pro Shop.

Head Golf Professional – Michael Dean
- Fully Qualified PGA Professional Member
- Played on the PGA Tour of Australia – South East Asia for six years
Our PGA golf pro, Michael Dean will run private lessons, junior programs and group clinics at The Heritage Golf and Country Club.
Hailing from New Zealand, Michael picked up his first set of clubs at the age of 12 – practising his game under the watchful eye of his grandfather who was a top NZ golfer. He moved to Australia in 2011 to forge a career in tournament golf.
Chasing an Australian PGA Tour card, Michael made his move into the professional ranks in 2015 at the age of 25, playing in Asian Development Tour events across South-East Asia, as well as in the United States. He has played Professional golf for the last six years and is now a PGA-accredited golf pro with a passion for working with players of all ages and abilities.
According to Michael, there’s more than one way to swing a golf club:
“Everyone is different and has a different make-up. I help to find a way to get the most out of every player by working on their technical skills, course skills and mental game skills.’
Along with the latest video analysis and golf simulator/ball flight data, newcomers will quickly grow their understanding of the game and with Michael’s help, will fast track their enjoyment.
The Heritage Golf & Country Club offers private golf lessons as well as group clinics for juniors, adults, beginners, women, and seniors. Junior clinics will teach youngsters the fundamentals of golf and all aspects of the game will be covered including full swing, short game, putting and on-course play, gaining a handicap and competition golf. School clinics and programs for all abilities are also available.
The best golf players in the world have had a trusted set of eyes to help them and now, you can too with expert coaching and advice from Michael.
Coaching days: Michael will be working in the Pro Shop Wednesday’s and Thursday’s and available for coaching all other times by appointment. It’s time to take advantage of the opportunity to speak with Michael about your game and take strokes off your score.
Personal Mobile: 0403 265 131.

Having taken a five-year sabbatical from golf coaching, Sean has returned to his true passion of helping golfers of all standards improve and reach their true potential.

Bridges & Retaining Walls
Work has commenced on repairs and replacement of all bridges on both the St John and Henley Courses along with minor works to retaining walls around Heritage. This will be an on-going task to ensure that we keep the bridges and walls in good condition.
Guest Fees
Last week we verti-drained the Henley Course and this week, we have been scarifying the St John Course. We are focused on nine holes at a time, followed by the other nine holes – to lessen the impact on Members enjoying their golf. This has also given us a chance to begin work on the bridges that join those holes.
Given the inconvenience, we will continue with the $100 Guest Fee (weekends $115) for the month of December 2021. We are hoping for more pleasant weather during the next few weeks and hope these reduced green fees will allow you to enjoy good golfing with your guests.
Retreat
The Retreat is on track to be opened soon. We will commence with a soft opening from Tuesday to Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm. All fully paid-up Members will be granted access. We will be moving to a full Members individual access code within a short time, but for now, please present your Membership Cards at Reception when we announce the opening. Details of additional days and hours will be provided as we finalise our plans.
Towels
I hope all Members have noticed and are enjoying the towels in the Ladies and Men’s Locker Rooms. Now that COVID restrictions regarding Change Rooms have been lifted, we have been able to reinstated the some of the little things that help make Members feel special.
COVID Restriction Easing
We are all happy with the easing of restrictions that we have borne for almost two years, however there is still a requirement to wear masks whilst in the Pro Shop. We expect that this almost final easing of restrictions will happen on or around the 15 December 2021.
